A unique example in the world of multinational, multilingual democracy, the European Parliament votes and shapes European legislation which infuences our daily life.
The Parliament approves laws that will be implemented across all of the Union’s countries, it adopts the budget and monitors the other European institutions. It is the only institution whose powers have grown continuously over the last thirty years. And yet it remains unknown to European citizens.
As in the previous European elections in 2014, the Robert Schuman Foundation has created this website so that you can understand the Parliament better, along with its role and how it is run.
This website also aims to review the campaign as it happens, to present the parties and the candidates who are running and their political projects in the 27 Member States.
We hope you enjoy exploring this site!
