Where to watch the debate between the candidates running for the presidency of the European Commission

The debate between the lead candidates on the European lists in the elections on 23rd-26th May who are running for the presidency of the European Commission, will take place on Wednesday 15th May from 21:00 to 23:00 (9pm – 11pm) in the hemicycle of the European Parliament in Brussels.

The candidates, whose speaking order was drawn at random, are: Nico Cué (European Left, EL), Ska Keller (European Green Party, EGP), Jan Zahradil (Alliance of European Conservatives and Reformists, AECR), Margrethe Vestager (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, ALDE), Manfred Weber (European People’s Party, EPP) and Frans Timmermans (European Socialist Party).

They will debate issues such as employment, migration, security, populism, climate change and the Union’s role in the international arena. The debate will be broadcast live on the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) and via EbS (Europe by Satellite) in 23 languages, including in  sign language. The debate will also be available live on the European Parliament’s website, and that of the European Commission and on the website european-elections.eu.
